CM: How did your company get started?

KA: Since 1992, the Capers Catering Owner and Founder has carried on that quest for perfection while serving Boston, New England and beyond—ensuring her team crafts each dish from scratch with the freshest-available, locally sourced or organic ingredients. Driven by her sincere desire to celebrate momentous occasions in delicious fashion, what began as a one-woman tour de force headquartered in a station wagon has flourished into a thriving greater Boston enterprise—300+ events annually—replete with state-of-the-art kitchen, lauded by critics and clients alike for exquisitely catering corporate and private events of all sizes.

CM: Tell us a little bit about the catering company:

KA: Our team takes pride in our fully customized, sustainably focused, farm-to-fork approach—each dish begins from scratch, with the freshest-available, locally sourced or organic ingredients.  Sparked by close collaboration with you, our forward-thinking final presentation considers your favorite foods, color palette, venue, serveware, and creative direction—drawing authentic ethnic or classic dishes into the mix as you wish. The result: a visually stunning, one-of-a-kind menu of flavor fusions, impeccably served by our symbiotic team—passionate about making every detail perfect for you.

Thanks to our carefully cultivated culinary partnerships, we always source the freshest local or organic produce, chicken, beef, pork, dairy, and beyond. Whether your custom menu calls for artisan cheeses from small family farms or wild-caught seafood direct from the boat, we procure the finest ingredients to create what you crave—and take it to the next level.

From passed hors d’oeuvres to pasta to desserts, we take pride in making virtually everything from scratch in our state-of-the-art kitchen, with utmost respect for the untold devotion, patience, and care behind each ingredient we find in our hands.

Our secret to flawless service: we listen carefully to your tastes and what you envision, communicate clearly with all parties from moment one, treat every member of our extended team with utmost respect and integrity, and together, meticulously tend to every detail to exceed your expectations.

CM: What other services do you offer in addition to catering?

KA: In addition to catering, we provide the bar and bartending service, full rentals needed to successfully create your event.

CM: What types of events do you cater to? (corporate, social, weddings):

KA: Capers is delighted to cater both corporate and social events, weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, fundraising galas, showers, birthdays and more.

CM: What is your personal favorite menu item?

KA: Handmade Corn Tortelloni with Heirloom Cherry Tomatoes and Basil Cream

CM: What is your starting price per person for a plated service based on 100 guests? (not including alcohol, rentals and staffing)

KA: A plated dinner including a first course, entrée, coffee and dessert starts around $44.00 per person (not including hors d’oeuvres).
